Let’s take a look at which Light Effects are included in the Toolset

As you can see, 20 different effects are included, all from various Archipelago and Quest presets we’ve released over the years, like Lens FX, Quest 26 ZIA, Quest 23 Odeon, Quest Tools 04 - Prism Effects, Halcyon Presets, and more.

Sun Spots & Sun Bursts

Add realistic looking bright sun to your images using a combination of Sun Spot and Sun Burst effects! There are two versions of each— one for vertical images and one for horizontal images.

Lens Flares

Add a lens flare effect to your image. There are 4 variations of this effect— vertical left and right versions as well as horizontal left and right versions— so you can place the flare exactly where you want it, relative to the natural light in your scene.

Ring of Fire

The Ring of Fire effect in photography comes from holding a copper pipe to your lens and allowing light to catch it to create a circle of amber light in the image. There are two Ring of Fire effects included in the Light Effects Toolset, one for horizontal and one for vertical images.

Rays

Use the included Rays effects to add sun rays— pairs well with the Sun Spot and Sun Burst effects! There are left and right versions of Rays for vertical or horizontal images.

Solis

Transform your lighting with Solis, which darkens the lower half of your image and creates a warm bloom of light at the top for an emotive and dramatic look.

Prism

Add creative flare with the Prism effect, includes both vertical and horizontal variation. Emulates the effect you get when holding a reflective prism to the side of your lens.

Light Leaks

The toolset includes three distinct Light Leaks inspired by the phenomenon that occurs when unintended light exposes film, resulting in unpredictable streaks or fogging in the image. These add a vintage, filmic energy to your edits!

Anamorphic Flare

The Anamorphic Flare adds a horizontal cinematic lens flare to the image— move the flare over a light source or reflection for that J.J. Abrams lens flare effect!

Tip: You can use the Preset Slider to increase or decrease any effect, move the masks around to place them exactly where you want, duplicate them, layer them, and more! The possibilities are endless with the Light Effects Toolset!

Note: Adobe Camera Raw capabilities do not currently allow masks to be moved— use this toolset in Lightroom to move the masks!
